Backlink Monitor is reporting “Page Error” but when I manually check the page it works.

Question: Backlink Monitor is reporting a “Page Error” for a particular Backlink URL, but when I access it in my browser it works. What’s wrong?

Answer: If the page is slow to load, Backlink Monitor is probably detecting a page timeout. You can increase how long Backlink Monitor waits for a server response by increasing the “Crawler Timeout” value in Advanced Project Settings (click the “Wrench” button).

By default we set Backlink Monitor to a 10 second timeout. This prevents slow websites from holding up the backlink checking process.
