Typically when crawling a SharePoint Intranet site, InSite will need to be configured with login credentials to get access to the site. Here’s what to do:

  1. Run InSite and select your project
  2. Click “Passwords” from the main toolbar to open the Passwords & Forms dialog
  3. Set the “Relative URL” field to “/” (so that this Password rule applies to the entire site)
  4. Set the “Method” to “HTTP”
  5. In the Username and Password fields, enter in the login credentials to use (and optionally provide your Active Directory domain)
  6. Click “Add Page” to save this rule
  7. Now click OK to close the Passwords & Forms window

Now try crawling your site again. InSite should authenticate with the credentials supplied and be able to crawl the site successfully.
