Answer: Sitemap Creator looks at the root URL that you entered before creating your sitemap file. It automatically strips any file names appended to the URL and attached the exported sitemap filename.
For example, if your root URL was “http://www.example.com/index.html” and your sitemap was exported as “mysitemap.xml”, Sitemap Creator would ping the search engines with the URL: “http://www.example.com/mysitemap.xml”
