What is error 550 and how can I fix it?

Question: When OrFind tries to connect to my FTP server it reports Error 550 (Failed to change directory). How can I fix it?

Answer: This error usually means that a time-out has occurred when communicating with your server and is caused by an incorrect connection mode. To change the connection mode click the Options button (wrench icon) and under “FTP Options” change the “Connection Mode” from ACTIVE to PASV (or vice versa).
