Question: What should I enter in the Remote Directory field for my FTP settings?
Answer: The Remote Directory tells Sitemap Creator that it is necessary to change directories before trying to upload your sitemap files. If you do not need to change directories after connecting to your FTP server, leave this field blank.
If you do need to change directories (a common folder is ‘public_html’) then enter that folder name in the Remote Directory field. If you must change directories multiple times, separate the folder names with a slash character (‘/’).
For example, after connecting to your FTP server you if you needed to change to the folder ‘wwwroot’, and then to ‘website’, you would enter ‘wwwroot/website’ in the Remote Directory field.
When you click the ‘Test’ button, Sitemap Creator will verify all your FTP settings. If it is unable to find the Remote Directory you have specified you will receive an error message.
